The feb 2025 issue of airways, which will be on news stands soon, has a nice article about jet blue's first day of operation; Jetblue mentioned in their earnings call that they are on track to launch domestic first class in 2026, with 25% of the non mint fleet expected to be retrofitted by next year. Last i heard jetblue is ordering 13 a321 xlr models.
JetBlue Flight Status
February 11 will be jet blue's 25th anniversary.
Interesting, i didn’t notice that when i looked last night.
How can any company be “trending in the right direction” when it’s currently consistently losing more. Jetblue plans to add 24 planes to their fleet per the q3 report 20 a220s 4 a321neos (2 of which are a321xlrs) they also have two a220s scheduled for 2024 delivery that have not been. Jetblue should have had alaska executives at the helm when delta first hubbed bos. Jetblue isn’t trying to “beat delta” at transatlantic, they are building it up slowly based on their scale and relative capabilities to cater to their customers whom are mostly leisure.
Jetblue absolutely will not be buying any airplanes from spirit. I would love to be a fly on the doj’s wall when any of the big three airlines attempts an acquisition. There was a forum discussion about this. Being that the jetblue ended their interline agreement with el al last october, this seems like a fairly logical move to make.
